By using advanced computer vision and machine learning techniques it is possible to design algorithms that can predict age and gender of people passing a video camera’s field of view. To work well, the algorithms are trained on a large number of faces with known age and gender. The training is done by optimizing the parameters of a suitable machine learning framework. Ongeas worked in the project by developing embedded and real time age and gender detection algorithm that ran embedded in standard digital surveillance cameras.
